This week on Fox News Sunday: (9/20/09)

The outrage over ACORN, the controversial grass roots community organization, reaches a fevered pitch as lawmakers in Washington begin to act.  The release of a number of amateur videos has sent the community activist group reeling in recent days, and now Congress has gotten involved by voting to block all federal funding.   This week Chris Wallace gets the story behind the accusations from ACORN’s CEO, and from one of the group’s harshest Congressional critics, in a fair and balanced debate you’ll see only on Fox News Sunday.

Segment 1 Guests:  Bertha Lewis, CEO / Chief Organizer, ACORN
Rep. Darrell Issa, (R) California / Ranking Member, Oversight and Government Reform Committee

On Tuesday, Federal Reserve Chairman Ben Bernanke claimed that the recession was “very likely over”.  So is the worst behind us?  This week Fox News Sunday puts that question to some of the biggest players from the world of business.  We’ll find out if they agree with the Fed Chairman’s assessment and also find out what’s really at play on the front lines of our economy.

Segment 2:  Fred Smith, Chairman and CEO, FedEx
John Chambers, Chairman and CEO of Cisco
Steve Odland, Chairman and CEO of Office Depot

    Plus our Sunday Panel:
Brit Hume – Fox News Senior Political Analyst
Mara Liasson – National Public Radio & Fox News
Paul Gigot – The Wall Street Journal & Host, “Journal Editorial Report”
Juan Williams – National Public Radio & Fox News

And our Power Player of the Week shows us the Hope Diamond, like you’ve never seen it before.

I was appalled at Ms. Lewis' body language during this interview. She sat with her back to Rep. Issa the entire time, and never once looked at or acknowledged him. Her rudeness and arrogance were obvious, crossed arms and all. What do you have to hide, Ms. Lewis? What a very telling interview!

Can I start a community organization to help poor white people? I know there are many dumb Swedish blonds who need help getting mortgages. Where is the Swedish blond lobby? Where is the Swedish blond supreme court justice, where is the Swedish blond caucus in Congress. Everyone laughs about dumb Swedes and dumb blonds - and no one complains about that. I'll bet even some blacks have told dumb blond jokes. Could you tell a dumb black joke? I'm thinking I have a blond group to exploit....

Someone please investigate and report on whether Obama knows ANYONE normal...anyone who isn't either an anti-American radical leftwing nutbag, a Communist, a cheat, a liar, a crook, or all of the above. I'd really be interested to know. Because so far, everyone in this guy's bag of friends is irresponsible, dangerous, and SCARY. It's like we have entered the Twilight Zone & it's 1969 all over again..but this time the radicals are in charge! Instead of 1/2 hr episode this one is 4 yrs long

Chris: Why did you let Bertha Lewis get away without answering one of your questions? Someone needs to take Lewis's bald-faced lies and self-serving nonresponsive answers and shove them down her throat. It is an outrage that the criminal enterprises operating under ACORN and its affiliated entities receive our tax dollars, tax-free status and no one in the federal government has the courage or the will to take them on. The Democrats will take down the CIA but not ACORN. Something is wrong!

Chis, I have two questions for you. Did you take your wife with you when you went to see the Hope Diamond, and if not, why not? What an opportunity!.

Remember this, with all our Senators and Representatives giving us multithousand page legislation without reading what they wrote, we still are responsible for obeying that unread law. In this country, ignorance of the law is no excuse. LOL.

I give Bertha Lewis credit for coming on Fox. She has more about her than Mr. Obama! I know Acorn is so corrupt and needs to be changed but there is a need for help for the poor. The whole government is corrupt how can we be surprised by any of this.

I just watched the interview Chris Wallace had with Bertha Lewis, CEO and Chief Organizer of ACORN. What I witnessed in her answers was right out of the book "1984", ie., Big Brother "Newspeak." Ms. Lewis dodged and danced around with her responses -- never directly answering the questions. Does she think we are all fools? I believe a criminal investigation should immediately be conducted on ACORN and all the organizations related due to its misuse of federal funding.

Chris- Bertha Lewis, did not answer one question you posed. All she did was spin. I learned nothing from what she said. You and congressman Issa were well informed and gave thoughtful questions. A complete investigation after this interview is certainly indicated.

Note to Bertha Lewis: I would never want to work for a boss that refered to her employees as stupid on national TV.

Why should president Obama subject himself to Fox News when he knows everything he says will be given a negative spin?

i caught the segment with the ACORN CEO, Bertha Lewis. her performance was a study on what not to do. During the entire inteview, Ms. Lewis appeared defensive and slightly combative. she refused to look directly at your other segment guest, and refused, not only, to answer his question dierectly, but continued to refer to him in the third person, as if he were not sitting next to her. she needs to add public apperance lessons in her upcoming audit of ACORN, for her self and others.

I think it is obvious why President Obama will not do interviews on your show or FoxNews in general. He and his advisors believe that they have a mandate to do as they wish and therefore they do not need conservative and/or Republican, and in some cases even moderate support or opinion. In other words why explain anything to a group that is disaffected.

Very good discussion hearing the perspective on the economy from 3 business leaders. And the round table first view is the POTUS is on 5 other media outlets. One comment by panelist is that Fox has more conservatives. More than what? More than liberal panelists? Or more than other networks (I counted 2 each today. And every FNS)

I wonder if Obama will be questioned about his meddling in the NY Governor's race in 2010?

DAVE: I was just watching you debate the tax on sugary drinks. I totally agree with your position. We need to empower the people to change their habits--not have the government dictate our decisions with taxes--Big Government=Less freedom for the people!!

I am outraged over Bertha Lewis' refusal to answer directly the questions put to her by Rep Issa or Chris Wallace and never face Rep Issa. She showed him total disrespect and that she and her agenda are more important than the right of the American people or Congress to know anything about their organization. Just because they've been around since 1970 does not mean they've operated above board. CUT OFF FUNDING, period!!!!
