On This Day: October 25, 1962

On this day - October 25, 1962 - US Ambassador Adlai Stevenson presented pictures of Soviet-built missile bases in Cuba to the UN Security Council.  Stevenson challenged the Soviet ambassador to deny the evidence in front of what he called "the court of world opinion."  Stevenson added, "I am prepared to wait for my answer until hell freezes over, if that's your decision."

Earlier, on October 14, a U-2 mission over Cuba took photographs showing clear-cut evidence that two MRBM (Medium Range Ballistic Missilerange about 1,100 miles) sites were under construction.  Additional flights three days later found even more evidence, showing a total of nine MRBM sites and three IRBM (Intermediate Range Ballistic Missilerange about 2,200 miles) sites.  Later flights found evidence that these launch sites, which had the potential of mounting nuclear strikes on Washington, D.C., would possibly be operational by the end of October.

Thanks, Chris, for an excellent interview. I am amazed at the hate in comments from the anti-Rush folks. If they want to see HATE, the should catch MSNBC! Thank God for Fox News and commentators such as Rush and the other conservatives. This White House is occupied by an emporer who has such disdain for the unemployed struggling to survive that he spends so much taxpayer money on himself with his travels and parties. That is the way it is for one who has always sucked at the public trough.

Now I am convinced that these "comments" are the work of probably one individual purporting to support the democrat party. Rush calls them "Serial Callers". This person, like Carvell and all other democrat. socialist pundats, feel them can stifle free speech by overriding any and all responses. I fear this will continue in effort to stop Mr. Wallace's platform. Just another tool from Dear Leader's box to quiet those who disagree. Bring it on!!!

Does anyone understand what these goofs are trying to say or do with these "comments"? Could it be some hack in the democratic party attempting to destroy any type of feedback or discussion? Will FOX NEWS attack these filth mongers?

These were the days, inspite of a philandering president, that America still had some guts and stood tall for honor, integrity and pursuit of justice. With only one exception, America (now Amerika) has fallen to the catagory of banana republic with a tin-pot dictator strutting about, Chavez-like, taking us further into the mire of socialist structure. Where at the Stevensons, the Reagans, those who would check this descent into the slime of democratic/socialist muck? No longer here I fear.
