So much talk about how NY23 seat "shows shows struggle w/i Rep between moderate and right." It's funny to keep hearing that w/o anyone pointing out that Polosi & Reed can't get their respective [super] majorities to agree on a bill, no less with eachother's bill. Desite unprecedented secrecy America has seen face of liberalism and are terrified. Consequently, both parties are struggling "The Diminishing Middle" and debate turning to the real issue: Conservative or Liberal (not Dem or Rep).
You guys missed an opportunity when Juan Williams blamed Katrina on Bush Administration but did not blame the swine flu failing on the Obama Administration. In fact Wall Street Journal reported that it was because of the Obama Administrtation demands of the composition of the swine flu and how the cultures were to be grown that the manufacturers missed the timeline. So one can wonder how effective the government will likely be if they control health care. i am not going to bet my life on it
Chris . I am a fan of your show and have watched it for years, but I also note that foxnews is and has always been slanted toward the right just as other networks are slanted toward the left.FOX,whether it's fair or not ,the treatment you recieve from this white house can debated all day .you know who you are stop crying.
Afganistan? Did I hear that they are full of young uneducated people and the Gross of their country is 900 Million. Why don't we just pay them off so they don't have to grow heroin.
Either burn the heroin fields and pay them to grow food, build schools, security ect. Or buy the heroin and get our money and then build some roads.
The biggest frustration of watching any of the Sunday shows is there is a presumption of all panelists that the government has a major role in the market. I heard Juan blast the executives for the financial crisis, when it was the government who incentivized them to take risks. Also, what punishment is there to taking risky actions if you know the government is going to bail you out? With that said, the government bailing out companies only encourages risky behavior. What should have been pointed outis the real problem the pay czar represents, the unconstitutionality of the Federal government owning part of a private coorporation. We are a Republic governed by the Consitution and that is a hallmark of a socialist country. It is just further evidence of the charade that is the "two-branches-of-the-same-party" system dominating Washington. They argue which flavor of ice cream we should have instead of whether or not we should have ice cream at all.
As Kelly Bundy wauld say it makes the mind wobble when you hear all the fictitious rationale the administration puts forward and no one calls them on it. For example, the clain that the public option is required to compete with the private companies to get them to lower their costs. If the government anti-trust laws and the other regulations were changed and the companies could compete across state lines like auto and home owner insurance there could be plenty of competetion.
while capping executive pay, regulating bonuses, as Kristol said, could be accurately labeled as a "diversion" from the core issues and cascade of problems surrounding Wall Street and the bailouts, they are a "diversion" from far more important issues...human nature, greed, denial of the the responsibilities of living in a an alleged democracy, etc.
Experience the world outside the beltway. Forget the lip-service. I guarantee your commentary would be much more compelling, effective.
The panel needs to retake U.S.Gov 101. Donna, WE ARE A REPUBLIC NOT A DEMOCRACY.
CHECK OUT www.wimp.com/thegovernment Spend 10 minutes learning the difference. You will not call us a "democracy" ever again.
All of Fox News employees need to know the difference.
1. Keep the government as far away of healtcare as possilbe: that's what WE want!
2. Obama is as predictable as any human can be: he is a high-functioning narcissist and his grandiose image of himself that is reflected in his words to us and others should be no surprise to anyone. Great example: accepting the Nobel Prize (for doing nothing) rather than turning it down.
3. He is also a black liberation theologist and embraces its socialist philosophy and actions (ala ACORN). Wake up, you guys!
Juan: NO we don't want a public option. The gov't has no power to take over our health care & life choices AND won't run them well. Look at all the other programs they have bungled. As for seniors not wanting medicare cut, We have paid into it in huge sums for over 40 years now. We deserve to have what was promised to us!!
Juan Williams seeks to dominate by continually taking so long to answer a simple question by adding ad lib explanations. In the limited time allotted, much more could be explored in the vital topics the public is interested in. Just a suggestion!
PAY CZARS !! As I recall, the ENTIRE financial crisis was in fact triggered by Fannie Mae & Freddie. I also recall MILLIONS in bonuses paid to Fannie & Freddie executives then AND now. WHY has the Fannie & Freddie scandal VANISHED from all the news? WHERE is the investigation, or the corrections to their operating methods ? WHERE is the "pay czar" for the GOVERNMENT ?
The reason the stimulus package has failed is because people are using the money to pay off debts, not buy more. We have already spent the money we don't have using credit, and when we pay off our debts, it doesn't make any difference. We will not see any more of the stimulus package money. What are we doing with it? Saving it in a shoebox waiting for 2010?
You have retained that big-mouthed, know-nothing little Billy Krystol for years and years. I really didn't think it would ever be possible for you to find a bigger loser for your "expert panel" (after all, Tony Snow is dead). Then Dana Bimborino shows up! Congratulations, FoxSnooze. You have officially "jumped the shark"! What's next? Bailin' Failin' Palin, Bat-sh*t Crazy Bachmann, Chinless Mitch McConnel? I can hardly wait!
I think there should be a "Pay Czar" for Congress. With an approval rating in the 20's, and a majority of the bills they pass causing more harm than good, they are way over paid. Oh, there is a "Pay Czar" for Congress, the American People, who should vote them all out, and start over, but alas, that will not happen.
I wish that the Obama administration would simply quit using the "we inherited" sleight-of-hand arguments. I've come to respect Juan a great deal of the time, even when I disagree. Yet it is troubling to even interject past "lack of progress" arguments into the current Afghan situation. The world is watching, and Obama would do well to either heed the advice and concerns of his active military and associated professionals and make a decision, or fire them and change course - quit waffling!

I'm glad more and more women are getting opportunity in Afganistan, I just don't think we needed tanks, soldiers lives, and other such force to do it.

Dana Perino is a "keeper". Her comments are intelligent, concise, and reasoned. She also gets her point across without bashing the other side.
